ITs Raining Again

Starting around 0230 on Friday and lasting until about 2200, it rained. And rained. And rained.

Here are a few pics.

Yes. That's its natural color.

I have never seen more than about 3 or 4 inches in this ditch.

This ditch is about 1/3 mile long.

Don't be fooled by the color. I was taking the picture a bit into the sun and it came out a bit more blue than it should have. The entire 1/3 mile of ditch is this full. Quite a bit of water.

Near the DFAC

The DFAC is on the other side of that cement wall section that's sort of out by itself. The fun part is that when the water is about 80% evaporated, it will become a sticky, goopy, mess.

This is just a small sampling of how much standing water is now present. I think we got about an inch of rain. Its supposed to rain again on Wednesday.

Dwayne,

Once the highs broke the mid 60's and the lows stayed 40 or above, we started having mosquito issues.

Some of these guys (gals, actually) are .5" long! At least we don't have to worry about the sand flies and fleas until the highs break 105-110, and hopefully I'll be out of here by then.
