Scania Shanty-ville Update

See that first row of exposed tents on the left? Mine is fourth from the end. If you look close you might see our slanting wooden door. Needless to say, my sleeping during the day (I am currently working 8pm - 6am) is dependent on my earplugs. Hopefully we'll be moving from there on the 21st.

I believe that the open area between the completed C-Huts and the tan tents is as far as the C-Huts will go for now.

The Fog...

All that standing water has to evaporate somewhere. We had two days like this, and it was much heavier about an hour before this picture was taken. Be the third day after the rain, there wasn't much fog left.

Back In Iraq

Actually, I got back on October 28th, but between handling the turnover of Texas and Georgia National Guards, and some technical difficulties (moved to a tent with no internet connection), I have been remiss in my updates.

The most significant event of the last few weeks is displayed below. Yep, its rainy season. It rained from about 9am to 4pm. Our tent performed ok, no roof drips, but the walls were soaked and we did have some water "incursions" between the walls and the plywood flooring. Hopefully we'll be out of this tent before the next big rain.
